CFS Symptoms
This section of blog posts focuses on CFS symptoms. (CFS stands for chronic fatigue syndrome).
At first glance, the symptoms of chronic fatigue are so wide and varied that it can be hard to make sense of them. Yes, there is the obvious extreme fatigue. But that can be a symptom of many illnesses (which is why it is so important to get thoroughly checked and get a diagnosis from a trained medical physician).
Another very telling sign is something called Post Exertional Malaise. Translated into simple language, that means your body takes an excessive amount of time to recover from simple exercise.
In addition to that, you may experience muscle pain, or sleep disturbances. Then you may find you have a number of other issues which can include: sore throat, headaches, nausea, digestive problems, dizziness, heart palpitations, flu-like symptoms.
The CFS symptoms vary from person to person. They can range in severity, and they may fluctuate during just a single day. Certainly they will fluctuate over time.
In short, all of this is confusing, scary, frustrating and depressing. It affects not just the patient, but also those close to them.
However, when you dig a little deeper, you will learn that things are not as mysterious as they may seem. Different symptoms do relate back to physical issues. In some cases, there may also be things you can do to alleviate those symptoms. So, that is what we will explore in this area.
